islamicthinking:

A group of students, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old teacher. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.
Offering his guests tea, the teacher went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of tea and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite – telling them to help themselves to the tea.
When all the students had a cup of tea in hand, the professor said: ‘If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.
Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the tea. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was tea, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups… And then you began eyeing each other’s cups too.
Now consider this: Life is the tea; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live.
Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the tea Allah has provided us.’ Allah brews the tea, not the cups. Enjoy your tea.

And they ask you (O Muhammad SAW) concerning the Ruh (the Spirit); Say: “The Ruh is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little.”
"Whoever, after listening to the Adzhan (call for the prayer) says, ‘O Allah, the Lord of this complete call and of this prayer, which is going to be established! Give Muhammad Al-Wasilah and Al-Fadilah* and raise him to Maqam Mahmud, which You have promised him,’ will be granted my intercession for him on the Day of Resurrection."

The Prophet SAW, as narrated by Jabir bin Abdullah RAA [Bukhari, Vol. 6, No.243]
*Al-Wasilah is the highest position in Paradise which is granted to the Prophet SAW particularly; Al-Fadilah is the extra degree of honour which is bestowed on him above all creation.

Your Lord knows you best; if He wills, He will have mercy on you, or if He wills, He will punish you. And We have not sent you (O Muhammad SAW) as a guardian over them.

And say to My slaves (i.e. the true believers of Islamic Monotheism) that they should (only) say those words that are the best. (Because) Shaitan (Satan) verily, sows a state of conflict and disagreements among them. Surely, Shaitan is to man a plain enemy.

And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance. Verily, you can neither rend nor penetrate the earth, nor can you attain a stature like the mountains in height.
2nd March 12
And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not) that of which you have no knowledge*. Verily, the hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those one will be questioned (by Allah).
*e.g. one’s saying: “I have seen,” while in fact he has not seen, or “I have heard,” while he has not heard.

And give to the kinsman his due and to the Miskin (needy) and to the wayfarer. But spend not wastefully (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift.
Verily, the spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayatin (devils), and the Shaitan is ever ungrateful to his Lord.

And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour.
And lower to them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: “My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was young.”
22nd February 12
Whoever goes right, then he goes right only for the benefit of his own self. And whoever goes astray, then he goes astray to his own loss. No one laden with burdens can bear another’s burden. And We never punish until We have sent a Messenger (to give warning).
"None is more patient than Allah against the harmful saying He hears from the people, they ascribe a son (or offspring) to Him, yet He gives them health and (supplies them with) provision."

The Prophet SAW, narrated by Abu Musa RAA [Bukhari, Vol. 8, No. 121]
16th February 12
Narrated Ibn Abbas RAA: The Prophet SAW said, “I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers were women who were disbelievers or ungrateful.” He was asked, “Do they disbelieve in Allah?” (or are they ungrateful to Allah?) He replied, “They are ungrateful to their husbands and are ungrateful for the favours and the good (charitable deeds) done to them. If you have always been good (benevolent) to one of them for a period of time and then she sees something in you (not of her liking), she will say, ‘I have never seen any good from you.’”
[Bukhari, Vol. 1, No.28]
13th February 12
And say not concerning that your tongues put forth falsely: “This is lawful and this is forbidden,” so as to invent lies against Allah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allah will never prosper.
10th February 12
So eat of the lawful and good food which Allah has provided for you. And be grateful for the Favour of Allah, if it is He Whom you worship.
He has forbidden for you only Al-Maitah (meat of a dead animal), blood, the flesh of swine, and any animal which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah (or has been slaughtered for idols or on which Allah’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering.) But if one is forced by necessity, without willful disobedience, and not transgressing, - then, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
